PAUL DAVIS COMPOSITIONS

Before he began making hit records, and again, after he ceased recording in his own right, Paul Davis carved out a reputation as an outstanding songwriter. In the late sixties, many of his compositions, during the "Malaco" era, had a strong soul feel; through the eighties and early nineties, he wrote mainly in the field of country music. It was during this period he ran up a string of massive country hits as a songwriter.

This is a guide to the compositions of Paul Davis, some written alone, some jointly with other writers. It does not seek to catalogue the many cover versions of major songs like "Sweet Life" and "I Go Crazy" for which Paul Davis had already recorded the definitive version. All are singles unless otherwise stated.
